After playing music for the poor children at the menagerie, the group treks back towards the Kolinar camp. Lina jogs over to Renier. "Thanks for your help back there with the stingy lock." She offers a crooked smile. "You are very handy with a lockpick. How'd you come by your talent?"
Renir nods an acknowledgement to Lina's offered gratitude and compliment. "Needs beyond my means, so I picked up new ones." She shrugs. No need to obscure that much in like company. "That how you picked up the trade?" It'd be difficult to imagine much different, with Lina's gentle heart. She'd been surprised at Lina's suggestion to rob the man, as well as the willingness of the group to go along with it. Though, through a lens of justice, it seemed less at odds with what she knows of them. She'd learned quite a bit about the group, thanks to her.
"Yah. Mom passed when I was young. Started stealing to eat. Started stealing for others for them to eat. I felt bad at first. But then I noticed the sellers at the market throwing out food because it got old." Lina head shaking no in disbelief. "Food just sitting there going bad because it was there"s. We live in a crazy world."
"Anyway, I appreciate your help, and so do those who will not go hungry tonight."
Lina offers her hand for an appreciation shake. Her emotions plainly worn on her sleeve.
Yep. Bleeding heart, openly, through and through. An oddity amongst their crowd, but preferable to the alternative.
Renir blinks at Lina's offered hand, huffs in amusement, and shakes it. Renir's hands are cold. "Let's do it again sometime. It was fun." She gives Lina a sly smile. "Don't tell Vavani what I told you. I want to see her earn that detective title."
As they shake hands, Lina looks at Renir with smiling eyes contrasting with a deadly serious voice, "I can do that."
