Question for Furrow
"So. You like talking to rocks?"
chuckles yeah. In a way, you could say I do! They never talk back though!! laughs ...ah. In truth, Renir? Its...kinda my way of trying to interact with them still. Spren, I mean! sigh I miss them. Seeing them, ya know? I miss it a lot. A part of the world, of people and things, of the cosmere! And I just... can't... have that anymore. I started keeping rocks and talking to them when I was... well, missing some things. Got pretty alone. Couldn't write to (catches himself) -ah, ya know, anyone and hey I didn't have my journal anymore and I lost my sight and... It was a lot. If spren are in everything, even the rocks, well... I mean im not sure if I believe anyone is listening. But the talking, it helps get things outta the head and the heart. Makes things solid. And then there is this idea I heard, I do like, that there IS a spren there, listening, and passing on the words to the other spren who take those words to where they need to go. That is really sweet. I try to hang on to that. To SOMETHING. Even if it might not be true.
I like the wind spren too! How you can hear them sometimes. I try to sing to them. Or, ha!, one time I was dancing with- well we were dancing and oh when the wind spren joined us, it was... I didn't know they did that... He smiles and trails off for a moment. Thinking back. Then his brows gently furrow. I wondered if they would join Taszo and I when we danced before. I think they did but chuckling. Well! Windspren are too fleeting for me to always find anyways. But rock spren? Always here. he pulls out one of his stones. Grounding me. smile emoji ...thinks... I should recommend to Vavani. ...And if you ever want your woes lifted, Mancha, and you don't want to talk to rock, you can talk to me! Anytime! I am a great listener you know. Not many can listen like me!! Practice all the time!! CUZ IM BLIND HAHAHA!!!
Renir snorted at that. "Think I'll try the rocks first, thanks." She pauses, leveling him a look he couldn't see. "You know, illiteracy is really common in this country. Probably wouldn't be too hard to find someone offering reading and writing as a service." She shrugs, "It's not much, but... you could still have some options... and... I think the Spren hear you. Same as they ever did." She says the last part slowly, almost reluctantly.
